Pneumatically powered (compressed air) , air pallets are typically a suitable choice for indoor venues like warehouses and factories. Working on a smooth, level, non-porous floor, they could whisk loads away from a loading dock to their intended location very very quickly.
Air pallets could move and lift loads up to 4500kgs with very minimal human effort. For loads beyond 4500kgs, Rotair Systems offers custom-built air pallets to fit your specifications. Choices include the fitting of integral guide wheels to assist with steering, and drive wheels to ensure of propulsion.
The same as their aluminium platform transporter counterparts, they are also relatively low profile and have a height of around 2 inches with deflated air bearings.
Air pallets are available with either A-type or B-type air bearings, based on the intended use, kind of floor surface, and kind of load they will be moving or transporting. A-type air bearings are the orthodox standard fit, and when they’re energised, they move the load away from the floor surface “just enough” to float the load which could then be moved off to its intended spot. This sort of set up requires the load to be put upon the air pallet.
When air pallets set up includes B-type air bearings, the features of air pallets slightly gets altered. B-type air bearings have a lift height which makes them whisk a load or pallet away from its base before moving it laterally to its destination. This kind of lift is available for various situations when loads are not able to be placed on the air pallet by other ways.
In addition to the higher lift of the B-type air bearings, they also are a little more powerful and could usually work on floor surfaces which look rougher than the typical smooth concrete type of floor surface. But, they do utilize about the twice the amount of compressed air as the A-type air bearings do. However, in particular situations the B-type are truly required for the job and are well worth the additional compressed air that is spent.
